SubTitle-Overview

Licensed and Regulated by the Oregon Department of Education, Oregon Pet Grooming Academy can provide interested persons a working knowledge of the pet grooming industry.

Located within the long-term established business, A Grooming Place, in Albany, Oregon, USA, the Academy leverages its connection with this full-service grooming shop to provide a retail area, student workstations, break area, and facilities for bathing, drying, and grooming.

Academy participants must be at least 18 years old, able to physically lift up to 50lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods of time. Participants should also either be able to work with large dogs or make special arrangements.

Participants must complete satisfactorily each phase of the program, in sequence, before attempting the next level.

Credit for previous training/experience will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the instructional staff, with appropriate credit granted and individual curriculum adjusted/reduced accordingly.

Classes operate Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM, including lunch (30 minutes) and two ten-minute breaks.

Grading will be pass or no-pass. Students will stay at each stage until mastery has been accomplished.

Because the Academy operates within an established pet grooming business, A Grooming Place, attitudes, performance, and conduct reflects upon not only the Academy, but also upon the integrity, performance, and reputation of A Grooming Place.

To that end, the instructional staff reserves the right to dismiss participants from the program for violation of school rules or misconduct that reflects unfavorable on the reputation/operation of the Academy or A Grooming Place.

Upon successful completion of the Academy program, participants will receive a Diploma.
